I like three-course meals
I was listening to Episode 11 of The Talk Show (warning: episode also includes John Gruber talking about the iPhone) last night and was reminded of the Shining trailer remix of a year or two ago. If the Garden State teaser trailer is a classic example of distilling an entire feature-length film into a trailer without losing much fidelity, the Shining remixed (and the original) use the trailer to effectively whet the appetite without giving away the plot. They are the soup before the entrée, if you will, rather than a morsel of the entrée itself.
