Wintertime is here

Byung-seok You designed this wonderful ceramic plate that sits on a radiator and keeps things warm (and classy). via Dustbowl.

Radiator Plate

It’s low on the pragmatism scale… what if your radiator isn’t running red hot all the time? The rate of radiated and convected heat loss is definitely going to outweigh the conductive heat gain through the radiator and ceramic plate. It’s still attractive.

For an attractive and marginally functional way to stay warm, try the hyper-expensive Droog “Heat Wave” by Joris Laarman. It’s $11,952 and will take 8-10 weeks for delivery. It is made from concrete and plumbing supplies and will only get lukewarm.
