Woody Allen by David Goligorsky

I came across these images of Woody Allen by Rosita Estevez on the Behance Network. They're based on his film "Zelig," in which Woody Allen is the star of a false documentary about a person who has social chameleon effects. e.g. In the company of British ladies, he will become a British lady. For those Woody Allen fans out there, I also just found out (via NotCot) that the typeface used in all his film credits is EF Windsor Elongated.

Perpenduum took a trip to Portland, Oregon for the North American Handmade Bicycle Show (images will follow when I find the disk space... come on Apple! Release that new MacBook Pro!) We stayed at the Ace Hotel, which ought to be a national treasure. The hotel has their own pencils which are black with brass-colored eraser couplings and pink erasers. The pencil is stamped with the hotel name in white Futura typeface. It's perfect. Born in 1924 via Paul Renner, it is one of the most widely used sans serif fonts. It can even be ...

160MP Digital Camera by David Goligorsky

While on the subject of grotesquely rare, hyper-expensive goodies, check out this 160 megapixel digital camera! It costs $45,600 and creates photographs that take about 900MB of disk space. You'd need a supremely powerful computer to work with these images and certainly a movie theater screen to do any useful editing. To make things more interesting, this thing is 18 inches wide and weighs 10 pounds. (via Dustbowl)

Sure, we all know that's the number of Canon 1200/5.6L USM lenses manufactured to date. Used, $99,000; leather slip-on lens cap included. However, did you also know that statement would accurately describe the number of 1931 Cadillac V-16 Sport Phaetons (18, $495,000) and Kenner Stretch Sea Serpents (8-12, priceless)? New Mammal with Flexible Snout by David Goligorsky

The BBC has reported the discovery of a really excellent-looking new species of mammal related to the elephant shrew, which is pictured above. The new species is Rhynochocyon udzungwensis. It uses its snout to "flick up insects." How shrewd. (thanks, Alex!)
