SixthSense, by Pranav Mistry—Still awesome, still vaporware

26 Feb 2010 by Christian Eager

This TED Talk is from November 2009. It shows some of the awesome possibilities of augmented reality—way beyond that of Nearest Tube or Yelp’s Monocole.

In the talk, Mistry says SixthSense will be open-sourced. Five months later, it’s still vaporware.

The crowd seems to love this talk, but I’m dubious.

It isn’t very clear which parts of the TED Talk are actually implemented and which are merely simulated.

This is total vaporware. I really can’t see why there is so much fanfare about this vaporware. It’s blatantly never going to be released.
