  I appreciate the counter-re-purposing of this object by Oscar Diaz. He made the candles to fit a standard E27 bulb fitting. I also like his calendar (concept?), which uses the controlled spread of an ink blot to depict the date. In the project statement, he describes how this calendar does not "signal" the passing of time, but gives a true sense of elapsed time by taking advantage of a slow physical process.

  Dasher changes the paradigm of text entry from pushing buttons to navigating through words.   So says Ken Robinson in an incredible talk (even by TED standards) on how education systems destroy the creativity of students, also noting "We have a huge vested interest in [education], partly because it's education that's meant to take us into this future that we can't grasp."   At work, I'm in the middle of entering hundreds of addresses into Address Book. I'm happy with my custom template, and there isn't mechanism for multiple templates, so initially I resigned myself to Shift-Tabbing 7 times to navigate from the Last Name field to the Address field. However, after doing this for the first few entries, my fingers knew there had to be (and wanted) a more efficient way. I turned to AppleScript and Quicksilver. I'm not an ace AppleScripter.
